Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
I bring over two decades of training and experience in therapeutic massage and bodywork to your sessions. My training began over 23 years ago, in 1999, when I completed a Professional Therapeutic Massage Program at the Downeast School of Massage in midcoast Maine. Over time I have added Thai Yoga Massage and Chavutti Thirumal styles of massage to my practice. These styles are rooted in the ancient cultures of Thailand and India and are performed with the relaxing fluidity inherent in my initial Swedish massage training. Over 15 years ago, I earned a Masters of Acupuncture and added this to my skill set. Because of my extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the value of my massage and therapeutic bodywork has deepened measurably.
Whether we are doing therapeutic table massage, thai yoga massage or chavutti thirumal, I use the wealth of wisdom imparted to me in my training as an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese Medicine to read your body and create a comprehensive therapeutic bodywork experience tailored to your needs and preferences in real time. Every session, regardless of which style of therapeutic bodywork you choose, will include an educational aspect of sharing with you what I discover about you from the session and instructions about how you can enhance the effects of the session at home through specific stretching, exercises, mindfulness and breathwork.
Therapeutic Table Massage
A relaxing fusion of highly effective techniques tailored to your needs and preferences.
Thai Yoga Massage
A combination of rhythmic massage strokes and passiveĀ stretching that is therapeutic, restorative and diagnostic.
Chavutti Thirumal
A profound style of massage using my feet instead of my hands. This style of massage uses long, deep strokes treating the muscles and fascia as one continuous structure.
A real gem!
